Pure Disco Delight

“Delicious” is the first single off desert disco artist Friends Of’s debut album: “Contemporary Cowboys of the Canyon.”

Recorded in Mexico City with Haitian funk singer F-MACK (a former finalist on La Voz), Delicious is a nu-disco anthem about getting over a toxic situationship. The verses speak to romantic infatuation and disillusionment, while the choruses triumphantly proclaim newfound freedom. It’s the kind of track designed for a breakup dance party.

Delicious came from one of those collaborations that just worked from the very first session. The song reflects Friends Of’s signature disco sensibilities with its undeniable groove, promiscuous bassline, and funky guitars. F-MACK’s impressive vocal range is on full display, from sultry tenor verses to soaring falsetto ad libs.

The music video was shot on location across Mexico City, where the song was born. It showcases the diverse people and destinations that give the city its dynamism. Throughout the video, F-MACK encounters folks stuck in their heads and delivers them to pure disco euphoria. It’s a love letter to the city and the power of music.

Friends Of’s forthcoming record “Contemporary Cowboys of the Canyon” is due out early 2027, with five more singles due throughout the rest of this year. You can follow him here.
